Agnes of God

American mystery drama starring Jane Fonda, Anne Bancroft and Meg Tilly.

Devout young nun Sister Agnes (Tilly) is put on trial following her birth to an infant that is found strangled in her dorm.

Agnes maintains that she had no prior knowledge that she was pregnant nor who the father could possibly be and psychiatrist Dr Martha Livingston (Fonda) is brought in to decide whether Agnes is fit to stand trial.

However, as Livingston conducts her research she clashes with authorities within the Church including the convent's Mother Superior Miriam Ruth (Bancroft).
