Amar Prem

Shakti Samanta directs this 1970s Bollywood drama starring Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna.

After being thrown out of her home by her husband, Pushpa (Tagore) is then sold to a brothel where she becomes acquainted with a kindly client, Anand Babu (Khanna).

When a family move in to a house near her own, she befriends and cares for the young boy who is being neglected by his parents.

She grows to love the child like a son but his parents disapprove of their relationship.

The family leave the village and years later the boy, now a grown man, revisits the place hoping to find the woman he came to think of as his mother.
