Annie/Pollyanna/Return to Oz

Box set containing three popular family movies. 'Annie' (1981) is a screen version of the Broadway musical based on the long-running comic strip 'Little Orphan Annie'.

Annie (Aileen Quinn) lives a miserable life in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan (Carol Burnett).

A chance of escape and happiness comes Annie's way when she meets billionaire 'Daddy' Warbucks (Albert Finney), but Hannigan and her colleagues soon conspire to get Annie back. 'Pollyanna' (1960) is based on the classic children's novel by Eleanor H.

Porter. Hayley Mills stars as Pollyanna Whittier, the cheerful orphan girl sent to live with her wealthy but embittered Aunt Polly (Jane Wyman).

Pollyanna quickly makes friends with Jimmy Bean (Kevin Corcoran), a fellow orphan, and together they spread their common sense and sunny optimism all over town, bringing out the best in various gloomy locals including lonely Mr Pendergast (Adolphe Menjou), hypochondriacal Mrs Snow (Agnes Moorehead) and hellfire-and-brimstone Reverend Ford (Karl Malden).

Unfortunately, however, it takes more than a sunny disposition to warm up the terminally humourless Aunt Polly.

Finally, in 'Return To Oz' (1985), Dorothy (Fairuza Balk) finds herself back in the Land of Oz where she meets new friends like Tik Tok (Michael Sundin) and Jack Pumpkinhead (Stewart Larange) as well as new enemies.
