Arch of Triumph

Doctor Ravic (Charles Boyer) is a refugee working as a physician under an assumed name in Paris before the Second World War.

He rescues a young woman called Joan Madou (Ingrid Bergman) who is trying to commit suicide, and the two fall in love.

On their return from a trip to the Riviera, Ravic is deported and cannot contact Madou.

His eventual return to Paris is filled with intrigue and tragedy.
