The Astonished Heart/Quest for Love/The Young Lovers/Always A...

Collection of four classic romantic dramas. In 'The Astonished Heart' (1950), middle-aged psychiatrist Dr Christian Faber (Noel Coward) is happily married to Barbara (Celia Johnson), but when he is introduced to her childhood friend, Leonora (Margaret Leighton), sparks fly and the two begin a passionate affair that ends in tragedy.

In 'Quest for Love' (1971), Joan Collins stars as a woman who becomes the object of a scientist's desire in two different realities.

Scientist Colin Trafford (Tom Bell) is caught up in an experiment that goes wrong and transports him to an alternative reality in which World War II and the Moon landings never happened.

Most strikingly, Colin finds that in this reality he is an author rather than a scientist and is married to the beautiful Ottlie (Collins), who despises him.

Colin strives to win Ottlie's affection and is on the verge of succeeding when he is returned to the ordinary world and must embark on a desperate quest to find his love.

In 'The Young Lovers' (1954), Ted Hutchens (David Knight) is a lonely bachelor working for the US Embassy in London.

When Ted meets Anna Szobek (Odile Versois), also an embassy worker, at a performance of 'Swan Lake', the pair soon fall in love.

However, it's not long before the international situation threatens their new-found happiness.

In 'Always a Bride' (1953), a close family bond allows Victor Hemsley (Ronald Squire) and his daughter, Clare (Peggy Cummins), to pose as husband and wife.

Using this to their advantage, the pair perform an elaborate scam to yield money from other guests living in hotels throughout the Riviera.

But when Clare meets British Treasury worker, Terence Winch (Terence Morgan), her outlook changes.

Seeking a life away from the scamming and scheming, Clare sees Terence as a way out, but before leaving for good she agrees to stage one more scam with her father.

However, when their latest plan goes wrong and the pair then flee to Italy, Terence begins pursuing Clare for different reasons altogether.
