Fitzrovia, center of London's pub culture for much of the period between the wars, was christened by Tom Driberg and owes its name to the Fitzroy Tavern.

Famous "Fitzrovians" included Augustus John, Nina Hamnett, Constant Lambert and Dylan Thomas.
