The Bird With the Crystal Plumage

Italian thriller and debut feature from writer and director Dario Argento.

American writer Sam Dalmas (Tony Musante) is out walking in Rome when he passes an art gallery and witnesses a mysterious man in a black leather raincoat attempt to murder the gallery owner's wife.

The police question Sam, but he finds their methods too slow and soon decides to investigate the attack himself.

Believing the assailant to be a serial killer responsible for the murder of a number of women across the city, Sam starts his search in the hope of catching the culprit before they can strike again, but when the killer begins threatening him and his girlfriend Julia (Suzy Kendall) over the phone, Sam soon realises he could be the murderer's next target.
