The Bronx Bull

Mojean Aria and William Forsythe star as Jake LaMotta in this dramatisation of the boxer's early and later life.

The film follows his formative years in New York, where he would start fights in the street at the behest of his father Giuseppe (Paul Sorvino), and his reformation in prison.

After rising to stardom in the ring, the former champion became a nightclub owner and stand-up comedian.

But LaMotta's post-boxing life was also fraught with trouble as he was arrested in 1958 and testified that he had thrown a fight to a US Senate subcommittee in 1960.
