Life on Tweedy's Chicken Farm is far from pleasant for the inmates.

They are badly treated by Mr Tweedy (voice of Tony Haygarth) and his domineering wife, and are kept alive only as long as they keep producing eggs.

Ginger (Julia Sawalha)'s various attempts at escape have failed due to the lethargy of her fellow chickens but when Rocky (Mel Gibson) crash lands on the farm, she sees the chance she has been waiting for.

If Rocky can teach everyone how to fly, they can stage a mass break-out.

Can he help Ginger and her friends find freedom before Mrs Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) executes her terrible plan to turn them all into chicken pies?
