Made-for-TV drama that follows a group of soldiers fighting in the American Civil War.

A group of cadets, which includes George Armstrong Custer (Josh Lucas), graduates from West Point in 1861.

The cadets quickly find themselves recruited to fight in the Civil War.

Such is the nature of a war that divides a country in two that some of the men will be required to fight against their former classmates.

The struggles of the soldiers are contrasted with the fate of Lucius (Andre Braugher), a slave on the run after his murder of a slave trader.

Clive Owen also stars.
