This book is based on a relatively new subject called 'Positive Psychology'.

In a nutshell, 'Positive Psychology' is the study of happiness and wellbeing, rather than the more traditional psychological focus which has always been on problems.

What is it that positive, upbeat people do? And how do they maintain it in a world that, let's face it, is relentlessly challenging and exhausting?

What makes positive teenagers? There are thousands of self help books out there. All but a handful are aimed at the general public or business people.

But what about teenagers? Think of the pressures they're under, with exams, relationships, school, society, teachers, parents - and look at the bad press they get!

Something needs to change! 'A Brilliant Life' is a positive book, aimed primarily at teenagers.

To create a world of positive teenagers, there are a couple of points worth noting: 1) It's dead simple.

The book is written as a gentle story that can be read in less than 10 minutes. 2) The messages, if applied, really work. The book is based on 5 behavioural changes that all teenagers can apply. The underlying message is obvious but very powerful - we cannot control events that happen to us, but we can control how we feel and react to them.

We can choose to be positive (even when others around us don't make the same choice!).

This doesn't mean we live in some 'happy clappy land'.

It just means we are in a much more positive and resourceful position to cope with what life throws at us. 3) There are a series of questions at the end of the book that will cause the reader to think about their current habits and re-adjust in light of the positive messages they've just read. Every teenager in the land needs a copy!
