Don't Say a Word/High Crimes

Double bill featuring two popular thrillers. In 'Don't Say a Word' (2001), psychiatrist Nathan Conrad (Michael Douglas) finds himself caught in a living nightmare when his daughter is kidnapped by desperate jewel thief Patrick Koster (Sean Bean).

Koster is searching for a precious stone which was stolen from him years ago, and to this end he needs to obtain a secret code hidden within the disturbed mind of Elisabeth Burrows (Brittany Murphy), one of Conrad's teenage patients.

Koster now tells Conrad that the only way he'll ever see his daughter again is if he extracts the code from Elisabeth; but Elisabeth isn't speaking.

In 'High Crimes' (2002), Claire Kubik (Ashley Judd) is successful lawyer who leads a comfortable life in San Francisco with her husband Tom (Jim Caviezel).

But when a seemingly random burglary attempt takes place at her house, it leads to the revelation that Tom is in fact Ronald Chapman, a soldier accused of killing nine villagers in El Salvador in the late 1980s.

With her world in tatters, Claire joins forces with disgraced army lawyer Charlie Grimes (Morgan Freeman) and resolves to defend 'Tom' herself, even if it means confronting an extensive military cover-up operation.
