Edison/Revolver/The Hunted

Triple bill of action thrillers. 'Edison' (2005) stars Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey.

Corruption is the law of the land in the American every-town of Edison, and the only soul brave enough to peer into the fire and face the wrath of an entire squad of corrupt cops is fresh-faced journalist Joshua Pollack (Justin Timberlake).

However, when Pollack misjudges the depth of the authoritative decay and his girlfriend is hospitalised following a brutal attack by the alliance of crooked cops known as FRAT, he soon decides to take action and prove that even those who believe themselves to be above the law still aren't beyond its reach. 'Revolver' (2005) is written and directed by Guy Ritchie.

Jake Green (Jason Statham) is a hotshot gambler, long on audacity and short on common sense.

He's rarely allowed to play in any casino these days because he's dangerous: he's a winner.

One night Jake and his two older brothers, Billy (Andrew Howard) and Joe (Stephen Walters), are invited to sit in on a private game - a game that is fixed for Jake to lose to Macha (Ray Liotta), a top dog crime boss and casino owner who can't play for squat, but always wins because you just aren't allowed to lose to him.

But Jake isn't afraid of Macha and not only beats him in a quick game of chance, but also takes every possible opportunity to throw insults.

As Jake and his brothers leave the game, Macha puts out the order for a hit on Jake.

However, a twist of fate gets Jake working for a pair of brothers, who just happen to have their own agenda for Macha... 'The Hunted' (2003) is directed by William Friedkin.

Benicio del Toro stars as Aaron Hallam, a trained assassin who, plagued by traumatic flashbacks of death and destruction, has gone AWOL from the Special Forces and is living a feral existence in the forest of Silver Falls, Oregon.

Trained to kill but mentally tortured, he starts brutally killing poachers and deer hunters who stray into the area.

FBI Special Agent Abby Durrell (Connie Nielsen) turns to LT Bonham (Tommy Lee Jones), the man who trained Hallam, for help with the case.

But can he reach his former prize student - and get through to him before he himself becomes 'the hunted'?
