F/X & F/X 2: The Grande Illusion

Double bill of action thrillers starring Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy.

In 'F/X' (1986) special effects expert Rollie Tyler (Brown) is hired by the Department of Justice to fake the death of mafia informant Nicholas DeFranco (Jerry Orbach).

However, Rollie soon realises that someone within the Department of Justice is trying to kill him and he is forced to go on the run, relying on his skills of deception to keep him alive.

Meanwhile, NYPD detective Leo McCarthy (Dennehy) is hunting DeFranco and he and Rollie must each decide if the other can be trusted.

In the sequel 'F/X 2: Murder By Illusion' (1991) Rollie is contacted by his girlfriend Kim (Rachel Ticotin)'s ex-husband, a detective investigating a series of murders who needs Rollie's help.

When he is killed, Rollie seeks help from Leo McCarthy and soon the two men become embroiled in a case involving murder, theft and treachery.
