The Queen's Speech outlines the Government's legislative programme for the coming session of Parliament.

This will include Bills dealing with the following issues: to give effect to the Constitutional Treaty for the European Union, subject to a referendum; the introduction of an identity cards scheme and further security measures; the creation of the Serious Organised Crime Agency and new measures to deal with harassment by animal rights extremists; the introduction of a new offence of corporate manslaughter; to authorise the construction of Crossrail; to tackle anti-social behaviour and drug abuse; to combat discrimination in the provision of goods and services, and the creation of a single Commission for Equality and Human Rights; to streamline the school inspection regime; and to reform charity law.
