1970s Italian horror directed by Mario Bava. John Harrington (Stephen Forsyth), the manager of a Parisian bridal dress factory, feels a strong compulsion to murder young brides with a hatchet while attempting to recall a traumatic event from his childhood.

He manages to fulfil his base urges while staying undetected by the police, but when he kills his wife Mildred (Laura Betti), Inspector Russell (Jesus Puente) closes in on the troubled killer.
