Hollywood is home to a wealth of different socialites, each with their vices and aspirations.

Among many others, Elaine Conti (Candice Bergen) strives to stay at the top of the pecking order while her marriage falls apart; Neil Gray (Anthony Hopkins) is a British film director recovering from alcoholism and seduced into an extramarital affair; Gina Germaine (Suzanne Somers) will do anything to become more than just a mere sex symbol in Hollywood, including blackmailing Gray; and former male prostitute Buddy Hudson (Andrew Stevens) tries to hide his past while climbing the ladder of stardom.
