In 'Home Town Story' Blake Washburn is a politician embittered when he fails to get re-elected and blames corporate interests for his fall from grace.

He sets about getting his revenge via a job writing a column in his uncle's newspaper, exposing the undemocratic machinations of big business.

But when his sister Iris (Marilyn Monroe) is trapped underground in a cave-in, one of the big businesses in Blake's sights comes to her aid throwing him into a moral dilemma. 'The Marilyn Monroe Story' charts the transformation of former forces sweetheart Norma Jean into the Hollywood legend that was Marilyn.
