Primary history curriculum guide

This study guide is written for student teachers and newly-qualified and returning teachers, whether or not they are undertaking a formal course of pre- or post-experience training.

It covers the teaching of all aspects of history in the primary school, including the use of artefacts, visits, visual and written sources, drama, photographs and websites.

Informed by Curriculum 2000 History, the text is firmly based in the classroom, helping readers make real links between subject knowledge, practical guidance and their school experience.

Themes are covered interactively, with many activities to be carried out in school.

An emphasis is placed on activities to include all pupils, and readers are encouraged to analyse problems, assess pupils' progress and evaluate their own teaching.
