Bollywood romantic comedy following two pairs of lovers struggling against paternal pressure.

Wealthy businessmen Ranjit (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) and Harbans (Dalip Tahil) would ideally like their respective son and daughter, Ajay (Ajay Devgn) and Madhu (Juhi Chawla), to marry each other as a means of securing more wealth.

However, much to the annoyance of their parents, both Ajay and Madhu fall in love with other people who are much poorer than them, causing Ranjit and Harbans to forge a plan to break the couples up.
