The Juror/The Chamber/The Gingerbread Man

Triple bill of courtroom thrillers. 'The Juror' (1996) stars Demi Moore as Annie, a single mother and juror in the trial of a powerful mobster, Louie Boffano (Tony Lo Bianco).

Determined to set an example for her son (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and stand up for justice, Annie sets out to ignore the intimidation she receives and to arrive at her verdict based on the facts.

However, when a secretive mob operative known as 'The Teacher' (Alec Baldwin) arrives on the scene and begins making threats towards her son, Annie finds herself facing a potentially deadly dilemma. 'The Chamber' (1996), a gritty adaptation of John Grisham's best-selling novel, stars Gene Hackman as a man who has been on death row for almost 30 years.

Sam (Hackman), a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, pleaded guilty to the murder of a civil rights leader and his children and is now 28 days away from execution.

That threatens to change when Sam's grandson Adam Hall (Chris O'Donnell), an idealistic young lawyer, decides to take on his case.

Although Sam is unrepentant, Adam is convinced that he did not act alone in the bombing, and is determined to find out who his grandfather is protecting.

In 'The Gingerbread Man' (1997) attorney Rick Magruder (Kenneth Branagh) has a one night stand with seductive waitress Mallory Doss (Embeth Davidtz), only to discover that she is being stalked by her cult leader father, Dixon (Robert Duvall).

Disturbed by Dixon's behaviour, Rick has him arrested and put on trial.

However, the more he discovers about Mallory and her father the more he regrets becoming involved in their affairs as deceit and danger begin to envelop him.
