Beau Bridges stars in this romantic comedy about a landlord whose arrogant nature is changed by the tenants he is trying to evict.

After buying an apartment block in New York with the aim of renovating it in order to increase his already sizeable fortune, Elgar Enders (Bridges) faces a problem when he encounters opposition from the tenants he wants to evict.

As he is forced to take an interest in their lives in the hope of winning them round, Elgar's pompous exterior slowly begins to fall away and he finds himself becoming increasing involved in, and caring about, their day-to-day struggles.
