Legally Blonde/Legally Blonde 2

Double bill of comedies starring Reese Witherspoon as airhead-turned-legal eagle Elle Woods.

In 'Legally Blonde' (2001), Beverly Hills sorority queen Elle is shocked when her boyfriend Warner (Matthew Davis) takes her out for a meal and then dumps her, saying that because he is about to attend Harvard Law School, he should now start dating a more serious-minded woman.

Elle refuses to take this lying down and follows Warner to Harvard, enrolling herself in the law school and taking on the bookworms in an all-out contest of designer-wardrobed Malibu frivolity versus mean-spirited Ivy League ambition.

When Elle and Warner then begin working as interns in a prestigious law firm, the California girl gets a chance to prove her worth by defending a fitness instructor who has been accused of murder.

In the sequel, 'Legally Blonde 2' (2003), Elle is back in all her pink and fluffy glory.

She has become a rising star in a law firm and is planning her wedding to Emmett (Luke Wilson).

But when she discovers that her firm represents a company that tests cosmetics on animals (and some of these are relatives of her Chihuahua, Bruiser), she expresses her views and is promptly fired.

Elle, now on a crusade, decides to take her views to Washington DC with all cannons firing.

However, the political arena is not easy to break into - especially if you don't wear grey - but with the help of a worldy bellhop (Bob Newhart), Elle manages to convince Congresswoman Rudd (Sally Field) to take her on as an aide and get her views heard.
