Listen Up Philip - The Masters of Cinema Series

Jason Schwartzman stars in the title role of this comedy drama written and directed by Alex Ross Perry.

Following the success of his debut novel 'Join the Street Parade', burgeoning New York literary star Philip Friedman (Schwartzman) becomes disillusioned with his adopted home city and his crumbling relationship with photographer girlfriend Ashley (Elisabeth Moss).

After rejecting the chance to tour and promote his latest novel, Philip escapes to the summer home of his literary idol Ike Zimmerman (Jonathan Pryce) while the girlfriend he left behind adjusts to her new unattached life in the city.

During his country retreat, Philip secures a teaching post at a small college courtesy of his new friend, who himself is struggling with writer's block and the strained relationship with his daughter Melanie (Krysten Ritter).
