Mad Max Trilogy

Triple bill of post-apocalyptic action adventures starring Mel Gibson. 'Mad Max' (1979) follows the revenge spree of former cop Max Rockatansky (Gibson) in a dystopian future Australia after his wife and child are murdered by a gang of vicious motorbike thugs.

The sequel, 'Mad Max 2' (1982) features Max helping a small oil-producing community defend itself against a band of crazed thugs.

Finally, in 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome' (1985) Max comes up against a barbaric society led by a warrior queen (Tina Turner).
