Megafault/Ice Quake/Collision Earth

Triple bill of disaster features. In 'Megafault' (2009), one of the last films in which Brittany Murphy appeared before her death, a seismologist faces a race against time to try and halt a series of devastating earthquakes along a fault line.

With Los Angeles and San Francisco amongst the cities primed for destruction if Dr Amy Lane (Murphy) can't find a way to avert the chaos, the pressure is firmly on her. 'Ice Quake' (2010) follows Michael Webster (Brendan Fehr), who works for the military and is a specialist in his field.

His skills are put to the test on Christmas Eve when unusual geological activity begins occurring in Alaska - apparently related to the collapse of a giant ice shelf off the coast of Russia.

Michael is out on a hike in search of a Christmas tree with his wife, Emily (Holly Elissa) and his children, Tia (Jodelle Ferland) and Shane (Ryan Grantham), when the ice quakes begin to strike.

The family find themselves battling to save not only their own lives, but possibly the entire human race, as the quakes threaten to trigger a devastating methane explosion.

In 'Collision Earth' (2011) a pair of unlikely heroes find themselves at the heart of the struggle to save Earth from a fateful collision with the planet Mercury.

When the Sun briefly magnetises and throws Mercury out of orbit, experts are horrified to discover that as result of the mishap the planet is now on a collision course with Earth.

Scientist James (Kirk Acevedo) believes he may have a way of deflecting Mercury from its apocalyptic course, but struggles to get his ideas heard due to previous issues with the weapon system he thinks has the capacity to save the day.

However, with help from Victoria (Diane Farr), the sole surviving crew member of a space shuttle in Mercury's orbit, James may yet have the chance to make himself a hero.
