Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) lives an unsatisfying life on Earth.

Wishing for something bigger and better, he applies to become an Expendable, a disposable soldier who regenerates every time he dies.

Sent to work on the human colony of Niflheim, Mickey is assigned tasks that will determine if a new planet is habitable.

As each assignment results in Mickey's death, a new Mickey is brought in, but when two Mickeys are allowed to exist simultaneously, they must figure out how to survive the brutal experiment.

The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette and Naomi Ackie.
