Nacho Libre/Norbit/The Love Guru

Triple bill of US comedy features. Mike Myers stars in 'The Love Guru' (2008), a madcap tale of an Indian guru's attempt to help a star hockey player get back on track.

When the Toronto Maple Leafs' star player Darren Roanoke (Romany Maloco) encounters marital problems, the news that his wife is seeing rival LA Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) causes his game to hit rock bottom.

With her team's fortunes quickly disappearing, Maple Leafs owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) enlists the services of expert relationship guru Maurice Pitka (Myers) to bring the warring couple back together, thereby helping the team's future.

An American child abandoned in India and raised by gurus, Pitka is finally lured back to the land of his birth by an extortionate fee, and the promise of a spot on Oprah Winfrey's show.

But once he starts his therapy, all thoughts of his own success fly out of the window, as he quickly becomes smitten with the gorgeous Miss Bullard.

Eddie Murphy stars in 'Norbit' (2007), a comedy about a black child raised by a Chinese racist bully.

Abandoned on the steps of a Chinese takeaway cum orphanage as a baby, Norbit (Murphy) grows up to be a rather confused man.

The only father he's known is Mr Wong (Murphy in Chinese makeup) - proprietor of above establishment and racist bully who can't stand black people.

Something of a milquetoast, Norbit is unable to avoid an arranged engagement and imminent marriage to Rasputia (Murphy in a fat suit), a gigantic woman who's also a terrible bully.

He'd drop her in a minute but she has three brothers who are eternally in the wings, punching their palms in silent threat.

This means that getting together with his childhood sweetheart Kate (Thandie Newton) is out of the question and, sadly, she's set to marry the handsome Deion (Cuba Gooding Jr).

Murphy cranks up the giggle mill once again with fat suits, passing of wind, unexpected rudeness and 'acceptable' swearing.

In 'Nacho Libre' (2006), Nacho (Jack Black) is a fellow with no discernible talents.

After being raised in a Mexican monastery, he is now a grown man and the monastery's cook, but doesn't seem to fit in.

Nacho cares deeply for the orphans he feeds, but his food is terrible.

He realises he must hatch a plan to make money to buy better food for the orphans and is struck by the idea to earn money as a Lucha Libre wrestler.

Nacho finds that he has a natural, raw talent for wrestling and as he teams up with his rail-thin, unconventional partner, Esqueleto (The Skeleton), he feels for the first time in his life that he has something to fight for and a place where he belongs.
