Richard Quine directs this 1950s film noir drama starring Kim Novak, Fred MacMurray and Phil Carey.

When Harry Wheeler (Paul Richards) robs a bank and fatally shoots one of the guards, police officer Paul Sheridan (MacMurray) is assigned to the case.

With Wheeler on the run, Sheridan is directed to get close to his girlfriend Lona (Novak) to help track him down and bring him to justice.

Matters are complicated, however, when Sheridan begins to fall in love with Lona and is left with an impossible decision to make...
