Queen Latifah: Unauthorized

Unauthorised biography of Queen Latifah, following the journey of a girl from New Jersey who became a Hip Hop Queen.

Latifah started her career beatboxing until a local DJ heard a demo version of Latifah's single Princess of the Posse and got her signed up with Tommy Boy Records.

In 1989 when Latifah was 18 they released her first album All Hail The Queen.

This debut album managed to be both a critical and commercial success and was followed by the albums Nature of a Sista and Black Reign, which contained the hit single U.N.I.T.Y that awarded Latifah with a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
