The first edition is updated to include changes in the criminal justice systems in many countries. It focuses attention on how law shapes policing globally as well as how the police act as though they are above the law. The authors will include more charts and pictures to make this primary text more attractive to students. To make the book conform to current academic standards each chapter will begin with a list of learning objects and includes classroom exercises. A summary at the end of each chapter.
