The Truth About Charlie

Jonathan Demme's re-working of the 1963 film 'Charade' is set in Paris and features several cameos from French cinema.

After her recent marriage to Parisian art-dealer Charlie Lambert (Stephen Dillane), Regina Lambert (Thandie Newton) decides to go away by herself to think things through, where she meets a charming and handsome American, Joshua Peters (Mark Wahlberg).

On her return she discovers that her husband has been murdered, that he lived a secret life, had several passports and was linked to $6 million that have gone missing.

Not only this but the police think she killed Charlie, a US embassy official (Tim Robbins) tells her that Charlie was a secret agent, and three mysterious characters turn up demanding the money.

Just as things are getting too much for her, the handsome Joshua Peters appears in Paris and a romance begins.

But is Joshua too good to be true?
