Underworld Trilogy

Triple bill of fantasy thrillers. Len Wiseman's directorial debut 'Underworld' (2003) sees vampires battle with werewolves.

Two underground communities, the sophisticated Death Dealers (vampires), and the feral Lycans (werewolves), have been battling for supremacy and hidden from the mortal world for centuries.

That is until one night when one of their battles is witnessed by a young doctor, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman).

When a leading member of the Death Dealers, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), discovers a Lycan plot to kill the doctor she decides to follow him.

But the more Selene follows him, the more attracted to the man she becomes - and becomes convinced that the Lycans are planning a major attack.

When Corvin is attacked by a Lycan and becomes a werewolf, and a sworn enemy of her race, Selene finds herself in a dilemma.

In 'Underworld 2 - Evolution' (2006), the battle between the Death Dealers and the Lycans turns even bloodier when a beautiful young Vampire warrior and a newly-turned Lycan with a mysterious past fall in love.

Finally, 'Underworld: Rise of Lycans' (2009) tells the story of the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime werewolf slaves.

In the Dark Ages, young Lycan Lucian (Michael Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them.

Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
