Chino Valdez (Bronson) is a mixed-race ranch owner who secretly plans to marry his neighbour's daughter Catherine (Jill Ireland).

Her father threatens to destroy Valdez rather than let him continue seeing his daughter, and Catherine's brother Maral (Marcel Bozzuffi) brings the wedding to a halt.
