Dee-Jan's Mother is Sick

'Dee-Jan's Mother is sick' emphasises the problems of living in the rain forest. Getting his sick mother to hospital on the back of Mocka-La-Doo is a task that leads to many adventures including rescuing his friend Toko, from a river.

As this is their first time out of the jungle the boys are overwhelmed by the sights and sounds when they finally make it to the city and have a lot of fun fighting with a vending machine.

Working at an elephant nature park while Dee-Jan's mother recovers in hospital, Mocka-La Doo learns how to play football and the two boys make a new friend but once his mother is strong enough the boys have to return to the village.
