The Wonderful Worlds of Ray Harryhausen: Volume Two - 1961-1964

Collection of three films with special effects created by Ray Harryhausen.

In 'Mysterious Island' (1961), a group of captured soldiers make a daring air balloon escape during the American Civil War, only to end up on a strange island where they meet two shipwrecked English ladies and are harassed by giant animals including oversized chickens, crabs and bees.

In 'Jason and the Argonauts' (1963), two decades after the King of Thessaly was killed as the result of misread prophecy, his son Jason (Todd Armstrong) returns to the kingdom to make his claim to the throne.

In order to be proved the rightful king, however, Jason must find and retrieve the magical Golden Fleece.

As he embarks on his quest with a loyal army in tow, Jason soon finds that he has a treacherous journey ahead of him.

As they come across a 100-foot bronze giant, a venomous creature with seven heads and an army of skeletons seeking a battle, Jason and his crew must fight the hardest fight of their lives if they are to succeed in bringing home the Golden Fleece.

In 'First Men in the Moon' (1964), a crew on board a spacecraft lands on the moon, victoriously achieving their mission with recognition of its success from the United Nations.

The crew discover, however, that they were not the first to land on this alien lunar landscape when they find a British flag, and the authorities are urged to track down the first visitor and hear their tales of triumph.
