This exploration of religion and food through festivals provides an introduction to Judaism including Passover, Bar Mitzvah, Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah.

Included is the history of Jewish persecution and migration, Israeli farming, the kibbutz and the moshav, as well as a description of food significance and symbolism such as the Seder meal.

The farming section introduces geographical information such as landscape and climate, the major food products of each country and how they are produced.

There are also four simple, step-by-step recipes in each book for use in Food Science lessons.

It aims to support Literacy Strategy: range of text, including recipe, information text, captions and labels in each title and to develop Numeracy Skills through the handing of basic numbers, weights and measures.
