This CD covers the four most studied works of Shakespeare and also features: critical overviews giving a brief synthesis of each play's significance; plot summaries by act; informative articles on the Elizabethan stage and the Globe; descriptions and criticism on major characters and themes; essays on historical context and settings of each play; and essays on life and culture in Shakespeare's England.

Primary documents are used, together with a biographical sketch of Shakespeare and a timeline paralleling his literary career and contemporary events.

All information is searchable by play, character, theme, dates and full-text searching using Booleian operators.
