Scientific diving is a productive technique for marine research and monitoring.

This code of practice is published in order to provide guidance to diving officers in research institutions, diving administrators and scientific divers themselves.

This volume sets out to advise on problems that must be addressed, who and what should be consulted and what should be done before a scientific diving operation is undertaken.
