Resources for early learning

This text explores the use of materials for learning within a social context.

Different forms of stuff such as blocks, beads, climbing frames, dolls and found materials are used to explore and illustrate the crucial role of people in unlocking the possibilities of materials as tools of all-round development in early childhood. A range of strategies is offered to help practitioners review and evaluate the provision, as they strive to create environments for early learning which are appropriate in human, personal, cultural and developmental terms.
