First Steps in Cookery

This is an introduction to cooking, aimed at seven- to ten-year-olds.

It contains a collection of 18 easy, step-by-step recipes, and has a "Superskills" section - a photographic guide to basic cookery techniques.

There is detailed information on equipment, hygiene and safety. The recipes include cheese and onion bread, Mexican chicken, spaghetti bolognese, fruit kebabs and gooey chocolate brownies.

The recipes should appeal to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
