This teacher's text accompanies the "GCSE Geography in Focus" student's book.

The course takes the insights into geographical learning being pioneered by the Thinking Skills teams around the country and applies them to the task of preparing students for exam success at GCSE level.

The emphasis is on the use of geographical case studies to develop geographical thinking, to support geographical argument and to explain geographical concepts. The course can be used as a successor to "Earthworks", John Widdowson's Key Stage 3 course books.

It pursues the same enquiry-based approach using varied activities, real-life and researched case studies and topical issues, integrating work on skills, themes and places into the course.
