South East Asia and China : Art, Interaction and Commerce

These proceedings examine aspects of South East Asian art and culture and their relationship to those of China.

The authors look at the precise nature of Sino-South East Asian historical interaction and explore the two-way traffic in ideas, imagery and technology between these regions.

The fifteen papers in the book are presented under three themes: the reliability of indigenous and Chinese sources; cultural expression as a barometer of ethnicity; and commerce as a facilitator of cultural exchange.
