In the driving seat : KS4 PSHE/citizenship resource to help students understand how behaviour and attitudes affect outcomes

"In The Driving Seat" is an award winning, comprehensive Key Stage 4 PSHE/Citizenship teaching resource which has been developed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to help students of 14 to 18 years of age understand how behaviour and attitudes affect outcomes, through a film about a group of young people who are learning to drive. "The In the Driving Seat" teachers' pack includes a DVD which is divided into four episodes plus extensive resources to help teachers deliver the programme, including a structured lesson plan for each module. "In the Driving Seat" maps very closely to the latest Citizenship and PSHE curricula, is suitable for The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA's) Safe Road User Award and is based closely on the DSA's National Driving Standard known to contribute to young people's safety. "In the Driving Seat" covers the following PSHE/Citizenship curriculum aims: successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve; confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives; and, responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. It is winner of: International Visual Communication Association Awards 2008 - Gold for best drama; International Visual Communication Association Awards - Silver for best script; and, New York Film and Video Awards - Bronze World Medal for a public information film.
