Environmental activist, Nora Peters, 17, is in a world of trouble. After her father's murder, she finds the Golden Pearl of the Forest, sacred to the world of frogs, and they want it back.

Ranya, Queen of Frogs, sends her warrior princess niece, Linka, to retrieve the pearl. But her son, the reluctant frog prince, Azzie, intervenes with a treasonous idea.

Why not use the pearl and the girl to conduct the long-abandoned Ceremony of Renewal to mend the bonds between nature and humans, now frayed to the breaking point?
