Syracuse, N.Y. - In Joseph Dowell's young life, he has seen abuse in all forms, along with himself being its victim. Growing up, the trauma of abuse that he experienced was never deal with and it carried over into his relationships, two marriages, and church life. After his exposure in his second marriage, God took Dowell and his family on a journey of healing and restoration. Now, his goal along with his wife Linda is to reach out to help all those who have been the victims of domestic violence, even those leaders in the church who are ashamed to reach out for help.

"Adams Where Art Thou" is a personal account of his rise, fall, and restoration and that of his family, made possible only through the Almighty Father. In it, Dowell speaks about his embarrassments, hurts, pains, near losses, exposure, and ignoring God, which had brought him to this point in his life: A changed man. His life journey has taught him to never take anything for granted and to never even think that he has it all together. It has taught him that with each day, he must live in Christ and Christ in him. It has taught him the true value of love- not the type of love that exists in the flesh, but the love that only exists in God. It has shown him as well the true character of his wife- one of strength, devotion, courage, and a will to serve God.

"In families, men begin out of position with God and the Father making a clarion call to all men (Adams) to get back into place of worship with him so he can give instructions for the family. When men, or Adams, are out of place with God, the family structure, communities, and societies crumble,

"Dowell says. "Know the purpose of why God is allowing you to go through certain things and seek him for direction."

"Adams Where Art Thou" aims to remind men to fulfill their God-given mandate "To lover their wives with Christ-like love so they can see their mates not out of their own clouded eyes of pride, selfishness, and "what-about-me" attitude but to see them as Christ sees them. Dowell hopes that they can avoid going the way he did to be healed.
