11+ Puzzles Vocabulary Puzzles Book 1

A good vocabulary is at the heart of 11 plus and Common Entrance exams, such as those set by Durham University's Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), and Granada Learning (GL), also known as NFER.

Both the verbal reasoning and comprehension sections of these exams typically contain questions requiring a good understanding of synonyms, antonyms and homophones.

The Vocabulary Puzzle Book aims to test a child's knowledge of synonyms, antonyms and homophones in a fun and engaging way with crosswords and word searches. The book contains four sections: Synonyms, Antonyms, Homophones and Mixed Puzzles.

Each of these sections is organised into three difficulty levels: Easy, Intermediate and Advanced.

There is a handy Word Jotter and definition section on every page, which is there to ensure the child is actively looking up words they do not understand. There is also a proverb at the end of each page to enhance their knowledge of the English language.
