With this two-disk DVD we view the twentieth-century world through historical film footage, discovering the various personalities and events that shaped last century. "Heroes or Villains" draws on ITN's unrivalled news-film archive to build up portraits of eight of the most influential people of the twentieth century. "Race in the 20th Century" presents historical film in a critical context, seeking to challenge the 'one view' interpretation of history, and "Women in the 20th Century" presents the changing roles of women in history.
