Princeton, Massachusetts: a history of its villages

Nestled at the foot of Wachusett Mountain, Princeton has come a long way since the days when its cows outnumbered its citizens.

Today, the town boasts four nationally registered historic districts within its small circumference.

An array of building styles --- Colonial to Greek Revival, Richardsonian to Romanesque --- distinguish its architectural landscape and serve as a lasting reminder of the many transitions in the town's evolution from quaint agrarian community to turn-of-the-century summer resort.
