The Movement is a socio-economic book that relates to each segment of the family. It takes place in a college setting because the author wants to encourage the youth to take a proactive approach to correct situations that they feel are counter-productive. We must realize that there are those who can take over our ongoing system if we do not pay close attention to the things that matter to us.

The author became aware of the disparity in the amount of money that the Major League Baseball players were being paid versus what the fans were expected to pay to support them during the Major League Baseball strike fourteen years ago. He chose to fight the injustice by standing up to them and boycotting their games. He believes that by speaking up for injustice, you will help your own community. After reading The Movement, the reader should think about a situation in his own hometown, and use the encouragement of The Movement to take the appropriate action. The reader most be convinced that one person can accomplish anything in life, if they understand what is needed. It is just a matter of dedicating the time and finding the right channels to fight for the change.
